Welcome

Feb 08, 2010

Welcome to the website of the Central Florida AFL-CIO. Our organization is a voluntary federation of approximately 182 local labor unions and councils, representing over 45,000 working men and women, retirees and their families in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Volusia and Flagler counties. We are construction workers, classroom teachers, transportation workers, firefighters, office employees, government employees along with a broad range of other trades and professions.

We work to provide better lives for working families through political and legislative action, grassroots mobilization and organizing new workers into the labor movement in Central Florida. We also provide a wide range of community services working to build stronger and healthier communities.

The Central Florida AFL-CIO has a chapter organization that meets monthly representing the workers in the Volusia/Flagler area. Together our organization is one of the nine Central Labor Councils (CLCs) within the state of Florida. We are part of a long and proud tradition that has existed since the early days of our nation and has worked tirelessly to build a more just society based on social and economic justice, a reverence for human rights and a commitment to the American dream.
